Scott Dawson Wants Revival To “Make Money” With Young Bucks

During a WWE telephone call, WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Scott Dawson spoke to WrestleTalk concerning his thoughts on Matt and Nick Jackson of the Young Bucks:
”I suppose there’s a special bond that they need as a result of they’re brothers and there’s a special bond that [Dash and I] have. A special bond that not many tag teams have. When you have bonds like that there is money to be made. We are from North Carolina, they are from California – we have different mindsets about wrestling.”
When asked about whether he and Dash Wilder would like to work with the brothers, Dawson said:
”I think there is potential for money to be made with the Young Bucks. Hell yeah I wanna fight them, hell yeah I wanna make money with them. That expletive [F**k The Revival] that they said about us I guarantee they would never say to my face.”
The Young Bucks have been teasing a match with the former NXT Tag Team Champions for years, and when it was reported that The Revival had asked for their release from WWE, many people questioned if we were one step closer to witnessing the mouth-watering clash.
On that note, we asked Scott if AEW had offered him a contract and he replied:
”I have not spoken to anybody about any kind of contract from anywhere. We have a contract here in WWE. Do we foresee ourselves going somewhere else? I don’t know. That’s not our call completely. I want to go where professional wrestling and tag team wrestling is going to be appreciated and where we are going to be able to showcase our skills and show what an incredible team we are. At the end of the day professional wrestling is a business. I can’t say ‘yes, we will be here forever’ or ‘no, we won’t be here forever.’’
Dawson’s response was interesting, especially the line where he said ”I want to go where professional wrestling and tag team wrestling is going to be appreciated”. Vince McMahon says that his performers are ‘sports entertainers’ not ‘professional wrestlers’, and Scott’s comments about wanting to go somewhere where tag team wrestling is appreciated could be a subtle jab at WWE’s poor booking of their tag team scene, especially as AEW are supposedly going to put a big focus on their tag team division.
